“I invite you, therefore, in the name of the Church, to the observance of a holy Lent: by self-examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and alms-giving; and by reading and meditating on God’s holy Word.” - Book of Common Prayer, 543
Welcome to the season of Lent; a season of self-examination, repentance, fasting, giving to the needy, and prayer in preparation for our celebration of the resurrection of Jesus at Easter. Lent can be a powerful time of renewal in our lives with the Lord, if we will make ourselves available to Him, to His Word, to His will, and to walk with Him in humility and penitence. I pray that as you set aside special times over these next 40 days for these devotional practices and others, that the Lord will meet you, lead you out of sin, and into the light of His love. The Lord stands ready to bless and forgive you, for he is truly, merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
